Ahsoka's History: Ahsoka Tano, a Togruta who lived on the planet Shili at a young age, was found by Jedi Master Plo Koon. She considers Master Koon to be one of her oldest and dearest friends by the time of the Clone Wars and is extremely grateful to him for discovering her sensitivity to the Force while promising that she would have a home at the Jedi temple. (Plo Koon gave Ahsoka the nickname of Little Soka.) Ahsoka was promoted to the level of Padawan earlier than usual by Jedi Master Yoda, and was sent to the Battle of Christophsis to join Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Initially, it was thought that she would become Obi-Wan’s new Padawan apprentice but to Anakin’s surprise, Ahsoka was revealed to be his apprentice! (Ahsoka gave Anakin the nickname of Sky-Guy; Anakin in turn gave Ahsoka the nickname of Snips.)

While Yoda hopes that having Ahsoka as his Padawan learner would teach Anakin a greater sense of responsibility, the Jedi Council as a whole hopes that as Ahsoka becomes more independent that her Master would learn to let go of his feelings of attachment toward people he cares about. (Currently that isn’t the case, as by the end of their first mission as Master and Padawan, Anakin has grown quite attached to having his Padawan by his side.) Even though they’re as different from one another as fire is from water, Anakin and Ahsoka had managed to find a common ground between them by the end of the Christophsis battle, which showed their differences almost immediately when it came to figuring out how to destroy the generator from inside the shield. Ahsoka wanted to fight the droids as they passed by but Anakin figured it would be better to run. Eventually, they made it to the generator-and Ahsoka accidentally tripped a number of sensors which alerted droids to their presence!

Anakin distracted the droids while Ahsoka planted the charges that would be needed to destroy the generator; despite her meaningful attempts to help, she kept alerting more droids to their area! Once she saw that her Master was surrounded, Ahsoka tried to save him by bringing down a wall that had a hole in it that crushed the droids but ensured Anakin’s survival. The generator was soon destroyed afterward, which allowed the droids to be finished off. Yoda now wondered whether having the responsibility of a Padawan learner would actually calm Anakin’s own ways, or if he would just pass them on to Ahsoka in the long run. Their first official mission as Master and Padawan was to locate and rescue Jabba the Hutt’s son Rotta. The success of this mission would be a vital one, as it would help the Jedi complete negotiations with Jabba for the Republic being able to use the Outer Rim Territories for their trade routes. Scouts had found Rotta on the planet Teth, and once Anakin and Ahsoka arrived they found it would be impossible for them to land at the monastery. They had to land at the base and to reach said monastery, they would have to scale the walls.

Anakin and Ahsoka treated their scaling of the walls like a race between each other. She’d managed to gain control of what was called an All-Terrain Tactical Enforcer, or AT-TE, and had to defend it from dwarf spider droid fire. STAPs, or Single Trooper Aerial Platforms, nearly caused her AT-TE to lose it's grip and almost succeeded if it hadn’t been for Anakin commandeering one of them to destroy another. Once she reached the top, Ahsoka used the AT-TE cannon to save her master from three droids. The monastery now secured, Anakin and Ahsoka discovered a protocol droid named 4 A-7, who informed them that Rotta was held in the dungeons. After they’d taken care of a few battle droids, the two Jedi successfully found Rotta-whom Ahsoka nicknamed ‘Stinky.’ As they tried to load said Huttlet into a small pack, which Ahsoka ended up carrying, their actions were recorded by said protocol droid from earlier who was actually serving Asajj Ventress, Padawan learner to Count Dooku. When he’d received the transmission, Dooku tried to convince Jabba that it was the Jedi who had kidnapped his son.

With an army of droids now sent to retrieve the Huttlet, Anakin and Ahsoka had to get off the planet as they soon discovered that Rotta was sick. The gunship that had originally been sent to retrieve the Jedi was shot down, but Ahsoka and Anakin discovered another platform. Ahsoka had a brief confrontation with Ventress before her Master picked her up on the back of a Can-cell, a large, winged insectoid who uses their four wings to propel themselves in the air, followed by Artoo-Detoo. (Ahsoka nicknamed him Artooie.) They soon discovered a ship, with 4 A-7 waiting at the ramp. However, when battle droids descended from the ship, it was now obvious to Ahsoka that 4 A-7 was a spy working against the Republic and she decapitated the droid. The two Jedi commandeered the ship, known as the Twilight, and tried to land on another ship, called the Spirit of The Republic, but it’s hanger was destroyed before they could land. With no other options or choices left, Anakin and Ahsoka traveled to Tatooine directly in the Twilight. En route, Ahsoka was able to treat Rotta with medicine that was onboard the ship, thus saving the Huttlet’s life and ensuring that their mission would be a successful one.

The Twilight, upon arriving at Anakin’s homeworld of Tatooine, was shot down by MagnaGuards. (Combat droids that were specifically built to fight Jedi. They were General Grievous’ bodyguards, but some of them were serving Count Dooku.) Fortunately, the Jedi were able to survive the crash and made their way across the Dune Sea toward Jabba’s palace. Ahsoka wished to know more about her Master’s life on Tatooine, but Anakin refused to talk about it. Both Ahsoka and Anakin sensed a trap was waiting for them, and separated from each other; Ahsoka took Rotta with her while Anakin acted as a decoy. As he faced Count Dooku, Ahsoka was forced to face three MagnaGuards single-handedly! Difficult though it was, Ahsoka was able to defeat them and deliver Rotta to Jabba before he could have her Master executed. Still believing that the Jedi were using him, Jabba ordered both of the Jedi to be killed; Anakin and Ahsoka were prepared to go down fighting, their lightsabers activated and ready. Thankfully, Padme Amidala of Naboo appeared via hologram to inform Jabba that the real culprit behind his son’s kidnapping was Jabba’s uncle Ziro. Once the truth had been revealed, Jabba promised the Jedi safe passage through the Outer Rim Territories. Anakin and Ahsoka were then picked up by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda.

Ahsoka then helped out her Master in rescuing the first Jedi she’d ever known-the Jedi who’d brought her to the Jedi temple, Plo Koon along with some Clone troopers when they’d gotten trapped inside an escape pod in the Abregado system. Her ability to sense Plo Koon through the Force kept Anakin from giving up on him after an unsuccessful search-not to mention the fact that she’d also grabbed the controls of the Twilight and piloted it herself. They soon found Master Koon and rescued him and the clones, who then informed Anakin and Ahsoka about the Separatists’ latest weapon-an ion cannon that rendered their ships defenseless. Said ship, known as the Malevolence, soon passed by and in order to avoid detection, Anakin and Ahsoka shut down all systems, which included turning off Artoo. They’d forgotten to turn off the medical droid, which alerted the Malevolence to their presence. The Twilight then barely managed to make the jump to hyperspace with the help of Artoo, who had been turned back on. Not too long afterward, Anakin tried using Y-Wing Starfighters in an attack on the Malevolence in an attempt to take out Grievous which might bring the war to an end. In an attempt to arrive at the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center before the Separatists, the strike force-led by Anakin, with Ahsoka as his gunner, made it’s way through the Balmorran Run; the strike force didn’t realize that they would have to face neebray manta! After they’d barely escaped, the strike force engaged the Malevolence in battle, and in the process they’d endured several casualties. Ahsoka suggested a change in tactics, and Master Koon advised that they cause the Separatists’ ion cannon to overload. This proved to be a successful tactic, and shortly after the ion cannons were destroyed, Obi-Wan arrived with three Republic ships that pursued the fleeing Malevolence.

Shortly following the aftermath of the Jedi’s encounters with the Malevolence, which involved Anakin heading out to rescue Padme from danger, Ahsoka would soon find herself in the Digital World.


Ahsoka's Personality: Ahsoka’s personality is similar to that of Anakin; basically she shows that she has the same type of rash and rebellious behavior that her Master has. Yoda himself stated that Ahsoka and Anakin, as Padawan and Master, were now twice the trouble due to their similar personalities. She’s known to rush into battle headlong without thinking of a plan, or when she does think of one, didn’t word it correctly as Anakin informed her during their mission to rescue Plo Koon. She adopted an informal attitude toward Anakin and tends to address people by nicknames. As mentioned above, Anakin is nicknamed Sky-Guy, Rotta is called Stinky and Artoo is called Artooie. Due to the snippy attitude Ahsoka had shown when they’d first met, Anakin calls his Padawan Snips.

Later it was discovered that, to resolve the confusion between who was to be Ahsoka’s Master, Obi-Wan and Yoda had forced her upon Anakin. Her impetuous nature annoys the heck out of Anakin, yet at the same time he finds it endearing. Anakin does have affection for his Padawan, caring for her life like other people who are important to him and abandoning his fight with Count Dooku when he’d learned that Ahsoka could be in danger. Ahsoka has shown an eagerness to prove herself worthy to be his apprentice, and Anakin helps her realize her dream in that way when he states: “You’re reckless, little one. You never would have made it as Obi-Wan’s Padawan…but you might make it as mine.”


Ahsoka's Abilities: Ahsoka is quite skilled in the ways of the Force, as Plo Koon himself realized when he’d taken her to the Jedi temple. However, she chooses to use her lightsaber, colored green, in combat. She uses a reversed saber grip during battle-not surprisingly, as her Master, Anakin attempts to break her of this habit and teaches her to use a standard grip known as Form V: The Way of The Krayt Dragon, or The Perseverance Form. Ahsoka will still use a reversed saber grip in times of need, though. She’s also quite skilled when it comes to piloting a ship and, as stated earlier, was handy as a gunner though she even admitted to her Master that when it came to attacking the enemy, “Your fancy flying’s making it difficult!” Unfortunately, once she arrived in the Digital World, Ahsoka completely lost her connection to the Force and would now have to learn how to master DigiSoul.
